It’s that time of year again: the Vancouver naked bike ride will be held on July 22 at Sunset Beach. There will be activities such as body painting as well as some performances starting at 12 p.m. The actual bike ride will run from 2 p.m.–6 p.m.
The dress code is “Bare as you dare,” according to the event’s Facebook page. The naked bike ride is a protest against cars and other environmentally damaging vehicles, and cites its goals as “support for human-powered transportation, safe streets and body positivity.” While the ride itself is a naked event, it’s still advisable to bring clothing with you for before and after. The event is entirely free and should be fun for anyone who enjoys biking and is comfortable around naked people. As a student, you’ll fit right in since you can’t afford clothing anyway.
