On March 11, president Joy Johnson released a report to the SFU community detailing the conclusions of a Black alumnus’ campus arrest. The report, which was conducted externally by Andi MacKay of MacKay Boyar Law Corporation, concluded there was “no evidence of racial profiling” or “lack of training in de-escalation techniques.” Further, MacKay stated SFU’s policies were clear and properly implemented, adding the alumnus was aware of COVID-19 policies.
