Pokémon: Legends Arceus is the breath of fresh air this franchise needed

It’s how I met my best friend, and I think my shelves of Pokémon plushies speak to how much this franchise has affected me.  Unfortunately, the main game series have always been formulaic. You catch Pokémon and defeat eight gym leaders. You always know what to expect: a game that takes maybe 10 hours to play through, leisurely.
