BC moves to block Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion, provinces square off
EIC February 12, 2018British Columbia moved to block the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion through the announcement of its new plan to limit any diluted bitumen, or dilbit, from entering the province via the pipeline. The announcement prompted a domestic trade war — Alberta retaliated to BC’s announcement by suspending negotiations regarding Alberta buying BC’s electricity and by blocking BC wine imports.
