Earlier this month, the Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS) did not receive permission from the students present at their Special General Meeting (SGM) to pursue a loan for Build SFU’s Student Union Building (SUB) and Stadium projects. The motion only garnered 65 per cent of the 75 per cent of votes needed to pass, which means that the board cannot obtain a loan and begin construction on the SUB.
