Spaces and how we interact with them: a look at two local exhibitions

By: Kaila Bhullar, SFU Student Location, layout, and mediums are all necessary parts of an exhibition or gallery space, though they are rarely ever considered in depth. The space in which pieces are presented influence how a collection or piece is received, interpreted, and understood. If a painting is presented in a dimly lit room, with nothing surrounding it, this piece might be meant to evoke solitude and isolation.
