This event, put on by the First Nations Student Association, will be taking place on September 28 at SFU’s Convocation Mall. As stated on their Facebook page, the event will be held “on the Unceded Territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Skxwu’7mesh, Musqueam, and Kwikwetlem Nations.” The event’s theme is “Burn the Borders,” which is designed to “celebrate [their] differences as Indigenous people and to have . . . who we are and where we come from [recognized].”

The event emphasizes the diversity in Indigenous identities from all over the continent. There will be performances ranging from drumming, dancing, spoken word, and modern Indigenous music to live carving demonstrations. MCing the event will be JB the First Lady, and there will be many artists, artisans and vendors in attendance, as well as catering by Big Heart Bannock.
