Marie Jen Espiritu Galilo

Marie Jen is in her fifth year of majoring in Biological Sciences – cells, molecules, and physiology stream, and minoring in English. She is the Sports and Science Editor at The Peak. Outside of The Peak, she is also involved in clubs at SFU. She is the co-president of SFU’s Blood, Organ, and Stem Cell Club. She is also the treasurer of SFU’s MEDLIFE Chapter, a student-run organization that aims to improve access to quality healthcare and education in developing countries. She is also a mentor for new science students starting their academic journeys at SFU. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, such as drawing, journaling, and crocheting. She also enjoys making Pinterest boards, Legend of Zelda games, baking, and café-hopping. She particularly likes tomatoes (for their flavour and aesthetic). Her favourite season is autumn for its cozy atmosphere, fall outfits, crunchy leaves, Halloween, and pumpkin-flavoured treats. She also likes black coffee and Americanos and needs them to function. As the Sports and Science Editor, she is hoping to highlight SFU’s student-athletes and research done by SFU students and professors. She also hopes to make knowledge about sports and science accessible for the broader SFU community.
