Ella Pendlington

Ella is a second-year student studying in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and is a Staff Writer at The Peak. She is looking forward to connecting with and learning from people in the community, including fellow journalists and interviewees. She is grateful to be part of a team that believes in student press freedom, is committed to continuous learning, and strives to incorporate the voices of marginalized peoples. She recognizes that much of the strongest journalism brings light to injustice, and believes that everyone has a responsibility to work toward creating a more just society. She understands the importance of reporting objectively — meaning truthfully, without creating both-sidesism — on topics meaningful to the SFU community. Outside of writing, she loves baking, binge-watching TV series, reading, going for long walks, hanging out with her dog, listening to music, and finding delicious coffee and food around Vancouver.
