This past Wednesday, November 5, the Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema showcased Miners Shot Down, a documentary film about the mineworker strike in South Africa last August.
The film followed the low-paid workers in their fight against the mining company and the government from the first day, documenting South Africa’s first post-apartheid massacre.
Surrey
SFU president Andrew Petter hosted the Annual SFU Surrey Gala Dinner last Wednesday to thank the community for its support and to provide an update on SFU Surrey’s latest activities and achievements.
Numerous representatives who live and work in Surrey joined in the
festivities, which included a performance by SFU’s Pipe Band and speeches from SFU faculty members.
